Mrs. Ashley Topham

Mrs. Ashley Topham loves to spend time with her husband and her dog, Mojo.  Mrs. Topham studied Spanish at Furman University and ESOL and Reading, Language, and Literacy at Georgia State University.Mrs. Topham enjoys traveling, scrapbooking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.  Mrs. Topham's favorite books are Pride and Prejudice and all of the books in the Harry Potter series.  Mrs. Topham believes that every child deserves access to language skills in order to be able to express his/her thoughts, beliefs, ideas, and needs.  In the classroom, Mrs. Topham likes to incorporate collaborative activities, critical pedagogy, and rich literacy experiences in order to maximize student learning.  One of Mrs. Topham's favorite quotes is by Paulo Freire, who asserts that "there is, in fact, no teaching without learning.  One requires the other."  Mrs. Topham loves to learn from her students and consider a day without learning as a day wasted.
